Honor & Impact celebrates those who have shaped iPride Softball and invests in those who will carry it forward. Through our Hall of Fame, the iPride Awards, and the Ken Scearce Leadership Scholarship, we recognize excellence, service and lasting contributions to our community.

KEN SCEARCE

On July 7th, 2021 the NAGAAA Softball world lost a great human, Ken Scearce. Ken was a one of a kind human and his passion for LGBTQ sports is unparalelled.

Ken was inducted into the NAGAAA Hall Of Fame 2014. In his memory we have created the NAGAAA Hall Of Fame – Ken Scearce Scholarship fund. This Fund will help NAGAAA individuals with higher education needs as well as athletic leadership achievements to further LGBTQ sports.

SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT 2026

MICHAEL WITTMAN

Michael Wittman is an emerging leader, student-athlete, and aspiring aviation professional whose journey
reflects a deep commitment to excellence, service, and authenticity. A graduate of Suttons Bay High
School in Michigan, Michael distinguished himself as a four-sport varsity athlete in football, basketball,
baseball, and cross country. As a standout linebacker, he earned First Team All-Conference, All-Region,
and All-State honors, and was recognized with the State of Michigan Heisman Award for his
achievements in athletics, academics, and community service.

Beyond athletics, Michael demonstrated exceptional leadership throughout his high school career. He
served as Student Council President during his junior and senior years and was elected Class President
all four years. He also held leadership roles in the National Honor Society and the school’s student
leadership program, while mentoring younger students and serving as the head anchor for the school’s
broadcast program, News on the Bay.

SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT 2025

KENDALYN WATSON

As a high school student, Kendalyn participated in cheerleading all four years. She was the first underclassman to hold a leadership position as co-captain her junior year and held the title of captain her senior year.
 She found her home in the health occupations classroom and just recently passed her Certified Clinical Medical Assistant exam. She graduated this past Friday night with the distinction of honor graduate. Kendalyn will be attending Dalton State College in the fall to pursue a degree in nursing. She hopes to go into dermatology and eventually, cosmetic nursing.

ELIGIBILITY & FUNDING

The Scholarship Committee is made up of 3–7 members who serve at the discretion of the iPride Softball Executive Board. The committee is chaired by an individual appointed by the iPride Treasurer and reports directly to the Treasurer.

The committee meets annually from January through May and selects the recipient by May 1 via majority vote, with the Treasurer breaking ties. Eligible applicants include graduating seniors, graduate students, iPride members, and children of iPride members, with event locations considered in the selection. Funding begins with Sin City Classic proceeds, and awards continue annually until the fund reaches its target—after which scholarship totals and amounts will be set based on sustainable investment growth.
